Cannabidiol, better known as CBD, is a phytocannabinoid discovered in 1940. It is one of 100+ identified cannabinoids in cannabis plants, and accounts for up to 40% of the plant’s extract.
What is cannabidiolic-acid (CBDA) exactly?
Cannabidiolic-acid (CBDA) is also a cannabinoid found in cannabis plants. CBDA is the chemical precursor to CBD and is basically the “raw form” of CBD. When CBDA is heated it decarboxylates and converts to CBD.
How is hemp different from marijuana?
“Hemp” and “marijuana” are terms used to describe varieties of the Cannabis Sativa L. plant. Hemp has very low levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and higher levels of cannabidiol (CBD). Cannabidiolic-acid (CBDA) is naturally found in the hemp plant as well.
